You've heard of the Four Books of the Gospel: Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. And you probably know they are part of the Bible, the New Testament. And you might also know that gospel means 'good news'. But are you still wondering? Has anyone truly tried to explain it to you? I like to use the capital letter R to explain it! Take a look at the following items on this page .
Realize: realize that God is Perfect and Holy and that He is our Creator. Realize that we as human beings are sinful and deserve death and hell. Realize that, being perfect, God cannot accept sin. Therefore, we need something or someone to save us from God's righteous wrath.
Recognize that in His holiness and Perfection, God sent his Son, who is himself God, Jesus: to be on the earth and in the world in human form. as our Savior. God loved us so much that God became Man to be the sacrifice for our sin. Jesus bore our sins as he bled and died on the cross, so that our sins could be forgiven.
Request to be remembered by God. Acknowledge His son Jesus as your Lord and Savior. Avoid saying things like "I accept Jesus or Jesus come into my life"...though its okay to do that, it isn't really honoring our Lord in the best way. It is better to say: I acknowledge that I need you and that you ARE my Savior and Lord.
Receive the gift of Christ's forgiveness of your sin, Receive the Holy Spirit, Surrender to Jesus. Does this happen like a flash of light? Will you hear a loud voice? No. But you'll feel different, if you've done all of this with sincerity. For me, it felt like a lifting or untying a burden inside of me. It felt joyful and like a sens of relief.
Jesus will reply with redemption, salvation and, by his Grace through your faith in Him, you will be justified.
Your response: Thank Him in your heart!
Turn away from Sin. You will never be perfect on this earth. Satan is still here and will tempt you and you will still sin, but you will be more mindful of it and you won't want to sin. If you do sin, y are expected to repent: to ask for forgiveness and ask God to help you change, examine your life, set goals and action plans and take action to ensure that sin will no longer happen.
Rejoice at what God has done for you! Do all you can to please him! This doesn't mean that you have to 'do works' to earn His salvation. You only need to have faith, but the love you have for His grace will make you want to help others and do good things. The good works are an overflow of your faith. Show spiritual fruit of your relationship with Jesus Christ: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, generosity, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control, compassion, humility.
